QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
For your first class, you can wear a t-shirt and athletic shorts. If you have a rashguard, that’s even better. We offer both gi and no-gi classes, so depending on which type you attend, the attire will vary:
Gi Class: Eventually, you’ll need to purchase a gi, which is the traditional uniform for Jiu-Jitsu. Our gym can recommend good options and may even have some for sale. A gi consists of a jacket, pants, and a belt to signify your rank.
No-Gi Class: For no-gi classes, a rashguard and grappling shorts (or spats) are recommended. These provide better comfort and protection while training.
Feel free to try out both styles to see which one you prefer. Our instructors and fellow students are always here to help you get started!
